At Bull Creek Primary School, all students accessing the internet, online services or digital devices at school are required to follow the school’s Online Services Agreement. This agreement applies to students from Kindergarten to Year 6 and helps establish clear expectations around safe, responsible and respectful use of technology in a school environment.
The agreement supports students in developing positive digital citizenship skills and outlines the responsibilities associated with using school networks, online platforms, and personal BYOD devices. It also assists the school in maintaining a safe and supportive online environment for all students.
The agreement is completed twice, once for Year K-2 and once for Years 3-6. However, parents and students are asked to review and acknowledge the agreement regularly to ensure expectations remain clear and relevant in an ever-evolving digital landscape.
Students may use a range of online third-party services and applications to support teaching, learning, communication and creativity across the curriculum. These services may be used by students from Kindergarten to Year 6 and provide valuable opportunities to enhance engagement, collaboration and access to digital learning tools.
Due to the changing and dynamic nature of online applications and digital services, parent consent is required annually. This ensures families are informed about the platforms being used at the school, the purpose of their use, and any student information that may be shared in order for the services to operate effectively.
The program supports students in Years 3–6 to engage in flexible, future-focused learning through the use of personal iPads at school. Our vision is to enhance learning through the use of readily available technology, allowing access to devices and catering for flexible learning opportunities. BYOD devices are used to support collaboration, creativity, communication and personalised learning experiences, while complementing strong teaching practices in the classroom.
